Kindergarten Dance Incursions in Melbourne

A Creative Incursion Designed for Early Childhood Settings

We offer a unique and highly individualised dance and drama incursion designed specifically for early childhood environments.
Combining dance, drama, music, yoga and design, each session takes children on an immersive sensory journey that inspires imagination, joyful movement and meaningful learning. Programs are thoughtfully adapted to suit the age group, developmental stage and emerging interests of each group, ensuring the experience complements your centre’s existing curriculum.
Anna brings over 14 years of teaching experience in performing arts education and a Diploma in Teaching Creative Dance, providing both creative richness and strong pedagogical foundations within every session.

Weekly Themes, Curriculum Alignment & Learning Outcomes

Each visit is built around a carefully curated weekly theme that encourages children to explore their world through movement, storytelling and collaborative play. Themes may draw from nature, community, seasons, emotions or imaginative adventures, supporting inquiry-based learning and extending classroom discussions.
Sessions are intentionally aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework and its principles of Being, Belonging and Becoming. Through movement and creative exploration, children are supported to develop:
  • A strong sense of identity
  • Meaningful connection with others and their world
  • Emotional wellbeing and self-regulation
  • Confidence as capable, involved learners
  • Expressive communication skills
The program supports EYLF outcomes including identity formation, collaborative engagement, wellbeing development, active learning and communication growth.

Supporting Educators & Documentation

Our creative dance sessions are designed to complement your centre’s planning cycle and curriculum goals.
The program is structured not only to delight children, but to meaningfully support your educational framework, enhance your arts curriculum and contribute to evidence-based practice.

What Are the Weekly Themes?

Each session is built around a thoughtfully chosen theme that invites children to explore ideas through movement, imagination and shared discovery.
Themes are flexible and responsive to the interests of each group, and may include explorations such as:
  • Seasons and the natural world
  • Animals and habitats
  • Feelings and emotions
  • Community and belonging
  • Stories and imaginative adventures
  • Movement qualities such as floating, growing, swirling or stretching
Rather than teaching fixed choreography, children are guided through open-ended movement prompts and storytelling experiences that encourage them to generate their own ideas. This approach supports creativity, confidence and independent thinking.
Safety & Professional Standards

Inspiring Set-Ups & Materials

Each session is supported by carefully curated materials and inviting learning spaces. High-quality scarves, ribbons, natural objects and sensory resources help children engage deeply with the theme and explore movement in meaningful ways.
The environment is designed to feel calm, inspiring and welcoming, encouraging children to participate with curiosity and enthusiasm.

Aligned with Being, Belonging & Becoming

  • While sessions feel playful and imaginative, they are intentionally grounded in the Early Years Learning Framework.

  • Through themed creative movement experiences, children are supported to:

  • Develop a strong sense of identity
  • Build connection with peers and their environment
  • Strengthen emotional wellbeing and self-regulation
  • Grow as confident, involved learners
  • Enhance expressive communication skills
Each theme supports holistic development, integrating physical movement with social, emotional and cognitive growth.
