About Anna – Creative Dance Teacher in Melbourne
Anna’s Story
Anna’s journey with dance began when she was just three years old. In a creative dance studio filled with music, scarves, imagination and wonder, she discovered that movement could tell stories long before words ever could. Those early years shaped her deeply, not simply as a dancer, but as a creative spirit. As she grew, she trained in classical ballet and completed her Royal Academy of Dancing examinations, while also exploring jazz, flamenco, African and contemporary styles. At the heart of it all, creative dance, expressive, imaginative and free, always felt like home.
Her love of the arts led her to complete a Bachelor of Performing Arts, followed by a Graduate Diploma of Education at Monash University. She also earned a Diploma in Teaching Creative Dance, specialising in early childhood movement education. Over the past 14 years, Anna has taught dance and drama across Melbourne schools, led productions, mentored students, and nurtured countless young performers. Her teaching philosophy centres on creating inclusive and stimulating spaces where children feel confident, seen and inspired to express themselves.
Becoming a mother to twin daughters brought her journey full circle. As she searched for dance classes for her own children, Anna found herself longing for the warmth, imagination and authenticity she remembered from her childhood. She wanted more than repetition and routine. She wanted magic. Inspired by her experiences at Lieto Creative Dance and guided by her years of educational expertise, Anna refined her own program, one that blends dance, drama, music and creativity into a gentle and nurturing experience.
Today, she teaches not only as an experienced educator, but as a mother who understands how precious these early years are. Her classes are thoughtfully designed to spark imagination, build quiet confidence and create moments of joy that children and their families will treasure for a lifetime.
